WWE Extreme Rules 2015 reaction

I am not surprised by anything that happened in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship steel cage match between Seth Rollins and Randy Orton. Rollins found a way to win with interference from the outside despite the cage. Kane helped despite his anger with Rollins showing that he is the suck-up coward everyone has portrayed him to be lately. Rollins is set to be champion for a long time if he is allowed to say and do whatever he wants even against his allies and they will still be there to support him.

The United States Championship match might be seen as an upset by some. That prediction was right as well though. Now Rusev has gotten himself in an even tougher situation in three weeks at WWE Payback when he faces John Cena in his second rematch, an “I Quit” match. I have never seen John Cena quit in any match, ever, even when he was being double teamed by The Miz and Alex Riley and still would not submit. I don’t think there is any way Rusev can get John Cena to say “I Quit.”

The match I was looking forward to the most for the Intercontinental Championship ended up not happening. I don’t know the details of Daniel Bryan’s injury. It would be a shame to see him stripped of this title like he was stripped of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship last year. 2015 seems to be mirroring 2014 for Daniel Bryan. All that being said, it was nice to see Neville get the upset win over Wade Barrett.

I was surprised that Dean Ambrose actually won his match with Luke Harper. He seems to me to be the little engine that could, but doesn’t. So a big win for him on a pay-per-view was a surprise. Their match ended up looking like the Hollywood Backlot Brawl from Wrestlemania XII between Goldust and Roddy Piper. The difference is the two drivers weren’t fighting during Wrestlemania XII and the match last night saw the fight continue while the car was in motion.

Speaking of the little engine that can’t, the Big Show tried to knock out Roman Reigns over and over again and he failed every time. Just like last month at Wrestlemania, Brock Lesnar could not put Reigns down for good. The Big Show could not either. If Randy Orton does not eventually get his hands on the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, Roman Reigns definitely could.

I am not a fan of the Bellas, but I am glad Nikki Bella retained the Diva’s Championship over Naomi. Naomi robbed Paige of her chance to regain the Diva’s Title so she did not deserve the title herself. There is a legitimate question of rule breaking as to how Nikki retained the title and two wrongs do not make a right, but I am still glad for the outcome of the match.

There could have been no positive outcome for the WWE Tag Team Championship match. The people who mock God beat the man who is verbally abusive to his wife and his partner. The only thing I can say about that is their success will not last. Hopefully, they will lose the titles soon and not to the team they just beat.

Extreme Rules 2015 predictions

Seth Rollins defends the WWE Championship tonight against Randy Orton. I said Randy Orton  should get the first title shot after last month’s victory over Rollins before he won the WWE Championship later that night. I am glad everything worked out that way. I am not a big Randy Orton fan. He deserved the title shot though. Orton will likely come out on the short end of the stick unfortunately. Rollins’ stipulation for tonight’s cage match is much better. The RKO is Orton’s greatest weapon. It is gone. The cage is supposed to keep outside interference from happening. How often does it really work out that way though? Seth Rollins will retain the WWE Championship by hook or crook.

I don’t remember any Russian Chain Match in recent memory in pro wrestling. The last one I recall seeing was between Nikita Koloff and Sting at WCW Great American Bash 1991. The rules tonight are the same with the winner being the one who can drag the loser to all four corners and touch the top turnbuckle in succession. The name of this match could make one think that Rusev is the automatic favorite. John Cena proved once again that it is unwise to count him out of any match unless it is against Brock Lesnar. I am not even sure if I would call it an upset if Cena beat Rusev. I predict John Cena will retain the U.S. Championship.

The sleeper match of the night could be the Intercontinental Championship match between Daniel Bryan and Wade Barrett. This is Daniel Bryan’s first IC Title reign while Barrett has held the title multiple times. Both competitors are worthy of a future WWE World Heavyweight Championship match regardless of the outcome of this. The winner might be likelier to get the first shot after everyone else who deserves one gets it first. I think the wrestling of Daniel Bryan will overcome the brawling style of Wade Barrett.

Luke Harper and Dean Ambrose will likely have the wildest fight of the night since both of them are a little short in the sane department. It is Their similar crazy styles make it nearly impossible to predict what will happen or who will win. Ambrose has developed a reputation the last year as the “close second” guy. He puts on a good losing effort and makes every match competitive and interesting. He just always ends up finding a way to lose in the end.

It seems odd to pick a seven foot, 450-pound athlete as an underdog in any contest just like it seemed odd to pick Rusev to lose the Russian Chain Match. Roman Reigns is the favorite in tonight’s Last Man Standing Match though. Roman Reigns took everything Brock Lesnar dished out and would have probably won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship if Seth Rollins did not cash in the Money In The Bank briefcase. Reigns’ toughness will get him through the giant onslaught tonight and allow him to defeat the Big Show.

The most disgusting and distasteful match of the night is the match between Sheamus and Dolph Ziggler. I can’t even talk about the title of the match or the stipulation. Sheamus’ new attitude has made him as aggressive as he was when he won the WWE Championship from John Cena in Sheamus’ rookie year. Dolph Ziggler has become one of the most popular WWE superstars for a while now. I don’t think that will be enough to overcome Sheamus though.

Naomi’s frustration is understandable but misplaced. She thinks she has been passed over repeatedly for Diva’s Title opportunities in favor of the more well known, established women in the division. She may have a point. Paige won the number one contender’s battle royal fair and square however. Paige should be the one getting the title match tonight at Extreme Rules versus Nikki Bella. Naomi’s actions have prevented that from happening though. I don’t think Naomi deserves this match for that reason. I am both rooting for and predicting that Nikki Bella will retain the Diva’s Championship.

I am torn on the WWE Tag Team Championship match during the Extreme Rules kickoff show. The New Day is a disrespectful mockery to men of God who devote their lives to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. WWE Tag Team Champions Cesaro and Tyson Kidd has a neglectful and sometimes verbally abusive husband as one of the team members. I really don’t care who wins this match. I predict that the champions will retain their titles though.

Earth Day 2015

In President Obama’s weekly address about Earth Day he said, “2014 was the planet’s warmest year on record.  Fourteen of the 15 hottest years on record have all fallen in the first 15 years of this century.  This winter was cold in parts of our country – as some folks in Congress like to point out – but around the world, it was the warmest ever recorded.” “The year 2014 ranks as Earth’s warmest since 1880” according to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and the National Oceanic and and Atmospheric Administration. President Obama said that this was the hottest year in recorded history. That statement is misleading because “recorded history” goes all the way back to Genesis 1:1 approximately 6,000 years ago. Adam did not pick up a writing utensil and start keeping temperature records on day six. We have no way of knowing that this was the hottest year in recorded history. It is difficult to gage the average world temperature right now for that matter. It would have been more difficult when these records started being kept in 1880.

Global warming alarmists need to keep in mind that “the global average land and sea temperature for the year was 0.69 degrees Celsius (1.24 degrees Fahrenheit), over the 20th century average of 13.9 Celsius (57 degrees Fahrenheit).”  Warming over the last year was only .02 degrees Celsius. That is with a one degree margin of error. A one degree margin of error is five times greater than the supposed warming. There might not have been any warming at all in other words. All of that assumes we can even trust the scientists’ self-admitted 38% accuracy assurance as reported by the Daily Mail in January. This “evidence” would be laughed out of court if it were presented in an objective court of law. That is not science. It is deception. Jesus said in Matthew 24:4, “Take heed that no one deceives you.”

One should also take into account the heat islands where many of the weather stations responsible for the computer models that predict global warming are located. The Environmental Protection Agency says “the term ‘heat island’ describes built up areas that are hotter than nearby rural areas. The annual mean air temperature of a city with 1 million people or more can be 1.8–5.4°F (1–3°C) warmer than its surroundings. In the evening, the difference can be as high as 22°F (12°C).” The temperature readings at weather stations located in heat islands would make overall temperatures appear warmer than they actually are since the entire world is not a heat island. We don’t even have enough weather stations to get an accurate picture even if these heat islands were not factors. How could we when all the weather stations are on land and most of Earth is covered by water? So the scientists make adjustments to make up for these problems. These guesses should call their findings into question no matter how educated the guesses. A computer model is only as good as the information the computer receives.

What is frustrating is the truth behind this deception has been revealed numerous times even though it still makes headlines as if it is undisputed fact. The UK Telegraph reported back on September 15, 2013, “A leaked draft of a report by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is understood to concede that the computer predictions for global warming and the effects of carbon emissions have been proved to be inaccurate...Other admissions in the latest document include that forecast computers may not have taken enough notice of natural variability in the climate, therefore exaggerating the effect of increased carbon emissions on world temperatures... Since 1997, world average temperatures have not shown any statistically significant increase...The summary also shows that scientists have now discovered that between 950 and 1250 AD, before the Industrial Revolution, parts of the world were as warm for decades at a time as they are now...Despite the uncertainties and contradictions, the IPCC insists that it is more confident than ever– 95 per cent certain--that global warming is mainly human’s fault.” Never let facts get in the way of a good story. What’s ironic is a lot of these “scientists” would probably have the nerve to call the Bible a fairy tale when their fairy tales of evolution and global warming take total blind faith to believe.

The myth of global warming or climate change persists because the scientific secular community does not take the Bible literally or seriously. A vacuum is created when man rejects God. That vacuum needs to be filled by something to give their lives meaning. Belief that the world is danger because of manmade climate change would mean that man can alter the effects of the warming by his actions. Crusading to end the warming trend then becomes almost like a type of evangelizing effort. Global warming is nothing more than a tenant of the religion of the secular scientific community. It also a liberal weapon to halt progress and a tool to change our system from one of capitalism to socialism by means of regulation where the government is god and we are its servants.

We can now look at what the reliable Bible has to say now that we have chronicled the falsehoods put forth by the false religion detailed above. As Independent Researcher Rod J Martin pointed out in his study from Answers Research Journal in 2010, God created the atmosphere with the necessary mixture of gases to support all forms of life during the creation week. That means there was the right amount of oxygen and carbon dioxide from week one. In the time leading up to the Flood, there would have been less carbon dioxide in the atmosphere than at the beginning of creation because of all the plants and shelled animals. All that carbon dioxide would have been trapped with them after the Flood. The same would be true for today as during pre-Flood times. With all of the plants and shelled-animals using carbon dioxide, there is less carbon dioxide and more oxygen in the atmosphere than when the earth was created. So we have no need of worrying about things like there being too much carbon emissions or too many oxygen-producing plants being cut down for humanity’s use. Any burned fossil fuels just return to the atmosphere that which was already there at the beginning. In fact, we are probably experiencing a carbon dioxide shortage and should therefore be promoting carbon emissions for the good of the planet. As far as the danger in cutting down too many trees goes, the primary purpose of plants is food, not oxygen generation. There was plenty of oxygen in the atmosphere when God created it. That doesn’t mean we should be wasteful in how we use plants. We are to be good managers of the things God has put into our trust. However, we also need to remember that God created the earth for people. He did not create people for the earth. Genesis 1:28 AMP says, “And God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it [using all its vast resources in the service of God and man]; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and over every living creature that moves upon the earth.”

God said there would never be another global flood after the one that happened in Noah’s Day. God told Noah, “I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the inclination of man’s heart is evil from his youth, nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done. While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night will not cease...As for Me, I establish My covenant with you, and with your descendants after you; and with every living creature that is with you, the birds, the livestock, and every beast of the earth with you; of all that comes out of the ark, every beast of the earth. I establish My covenant with you. Never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of a flood. Never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth. This is the sign of the covenant which I am making between Me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations. I have set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of a covenant between Me and the earth” (Genesis 8:21; 9:9-13). This promise could not stay true if the extreme fears resulting from the consequences of global warming were realized.

Jesus told us to be careful about what we use to build the foundation for our lives. At the conclusion of His Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 7:24-27 He said, “Whoever hears these sayings of Mine and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on a rock. And the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house. And it did not fall, for it was founded a rock. And every one who hears these sayings of Mine and does not do them will be likened to a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house. And it fell. And its fall was great.” Jesus, the Son of God, built His life and ideas on the Word of God. So should we. Remember that on this Earth Day and keep the real focus on the Creator, not the created.

Heart sins that defile part 2

This is a continuation of a series of blog posts that I started on March 10 called heart sins that defile. Jesus said in Matthew 15:18-19 that wrong words come from the heart--the person’s true self--and that is the part which is actually defiled. The words that come from the mouth are just part of the fruit of that defilement.

Next on the list of heart sins that defile according to Jesus in Matthew 15:19 is adulteries. The only sexual acts permissible in Scripture are those between a husband and a wife. The basic definition of adultery is one many people in our society are probably familiar with because adultery is so prevalent in our society. It is a sexual relationship between a married person and someone to whom they are not married. The Mosaic Law extended that definition to engaged people too (Matthew 1:18-25). One of the ten commandments is against the commission of adultery (Exodus 20:14). Adulterers were stoned to death in Old Testament times (Leviticus 20:10). If there were questions as to whether an act of adultery took place, a process was laid out by God for proving or disproving the charge (Numbers 5:11-31). The woman brought to Jesus in John 8:1-11 for judgment was done so because of adultery. The only exception for this death penalty was rape, in which case the victim would be innocent and the guilty would be put to death (Deuteronomy 22:25-27). In the New Testament, Jesus stated that adultery began in the heart (Matthew 5:32; 15:19). Like most New Testament teaching concerning sin, adultery begins in the heart. God looks at the heart to sees the root of the outward sin and considers one who dwells on sinful thoughts to be guilty (Matthew 5:27-30; James 1:14-15). One who then follows through on sinful thoughts with actions would actually be guilty twice. The guilty will be punished unless they repent (i.e. stop sinning) and turn to God for forgiveness (John 8:11; Hebrews 13:4; 2 Peter 2:13-14). I read a lot on social media from people who tell Christians to “stop judging” because “God accepts people as they are.” Yes God accepts people as they are, but He expects them to change. Matthew was a tax collector. He was accepted as he was by Jesus, but he didn’t stay a tax collector for example.1 Corinthians 6:9-11 and Galatians 5:19-21 lists different types of people who live by the sinful nature and will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Then it says that some of the people who were already in the Kingdom WERE the very types of people listed in the previous verses. They were accepted as they were, but they were not permitted to stay as they were and still call themselves Christians.

Fornications follows adulteries in the Matthew 15:19 list. Fornication is similar to adultery except that it involves sexual relations between people who are unmarried. So people cannot excuse themselves by saying they are clean because the people they are with aren’t married. Fornication violates the boundaries of sex in marriage exclusively with your spouse the same way adultery does. It also doesn’t count if you say you’re intending to get married so that makes it okay. The fact is you’re still not married so it is not okay. In the Old Testament, unmarried people who had sex were required to marry unless the woman’s parents objected, in which case the male in the relationship still owed the family 1.25 pounds of silver (Exodus 22:16-17; Deuteronomy 22:28-29). The purpose of these laws are not for God to ruin people’s good time any more than a parent denying a child their request to eat nothing but sweets is doing it because they want to see them suffer. There are reasons for all of God’s laws and they are there for our good. Just like with adultery and all sin, its root is in the mind and is only manifested in the outward action. If one does not win the battle for the mind (thank you Joyce Meyer), they have no hope of winning the battle for control of their bodies (Matthew 5:28; 2 Timothy 2:22). Furthermore, professing Christians in the church who claim to love the Lord, but openly, continually disobey Him should be removed from the fellowship and not associated with until such time that they repent and return to God (1 Corinthians 5). Those who repent should be fully accepted and forgiven just as we all have been (Matthew 9:12; Galatians 6:1-2).

Moving away from sexual sin, theft--the wrongful taking and carrying away of the goods or property of another--is another heart sin that defiles. Theft is listed in the 10 Commandments along with adultery (Exodus 20:15). The penalty for breaking this law in the Old Testament was not death, but rather restitution many times over (Exodus 22:1-8). Zacchaeus demonstrated this principle when he repented of his theft and became a follower of Jesus (Luke 19:1-10). This sin also begins in the heart and mind because a person has to desire something that belongs to someone else before they can move forward with actually stealing it. If a person can discipline their mind to not wrongfully desire something that belongs to someone else, but rather earn that thing or receive it as a gift, they will purify their heart rather than defiling themselves.

The things you can see... Part 1

The things you can see just by watching and observing. Sometimes you don’t even have to try. First, we went to the Health Department yesterday. While we were in there discussing the reason we were there with the woman and we saw a large TV up in the corner. A sign on the TV said the TV was made possible through H1N1 funding. So I started to wonder what a television has to do with the H1N1 virus. Did the TV cure anyone? What did the TV do to fight H1N1? The obvious answer is nothing. This illustrates both government waste and the false pretenses by which a lot of these funds are allocated.

Take for example the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). that was passed on February 17, 2009, President Obama said this “includes help for those hardest hit by our economic crisis. As a whole, this plan will help poor and working Americans.” That is the way President Obama sold the stimulus bill to the American public. Yet in reality, the states that were most affected by the recession received the least amount of stimulus money. The people most helped by the stimulus were not the poor and the working, but unions and rich Democrat donors. Most of the money was given to Democrat-controlled states.

Beyond that, and the point of this post, is the waste involved. $1.3 million was spent for highway advertisement signs showing that infrastructure improvement was being paid for by the stimulus. $152,000 went to Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts to promote lesbian adoption. I guess there were a lot of lesbians at Clark University that wanted to adopt children. $600,000 went to planting trees in the wealthiest neighborhoods in Denver. $384,949 was given to Yale University for a study on “waterfowl genitalia.” $1.2 million went to study impotence in overweight men. $389,357 went to pay students at the State University of New York at Buffalo to keep a record of the malt liquor and marijuana use.$3.4 million went to an underground turtle tunnel in Florida. $8,408 went to Florida Atlantic University to study whether or not mice can get drunk. $535 million went to a company called Solyndra that filed for bankruptcy two years later. Those are just some examples out of many, many more. These government wastes aren’t just limited to the ARRA. It is the standard way of doing things in Washington D.C. And some people still wonder why the Tea Party movement has caught on like it has.

Dana Bash's interview with Senator Cruz on CNN

I know it is a little bit old now (these days a few hours can make something in the news "old"), but I just finished watching Dana Bash’s interview on CNN with Senator Ted Cruz, the first official Republican presidential candidate of the 2016 presidential race. The interview reminds me of why I don't like CNN and most of the lamestream media stuff. If anything fits the definition of complete double standard, it is how the lamestream media treats Republicans versus how it treats Democrats. Of course, this is nothing new. It has been going on since way before I was born and there is no end in sight. Still, I couldn’t help but notice the way she worded some of her questions and statements. "How are you going to compromise?" "You need to be more likable. You need to get things done."

When is the last time there was a loud cry from the lamestream media for President Obama or any prominent Democrat to "compromise" with Republicans? It is always Republicans who have to compromise. When Democrats want to push through their radical left-wing agenda under President Obama, there is no call for them to compromise with Republicans. It’s not like most Republicans have offered up any serious opposition to Democrats outside of the Tea Party, but at least Senator Cruz and his Tea Party colleagues do their best to make due with the numbers they have. The point is there is never this big massive media call for Democrats to compromise with Republicans, to cross the aisle and get along, and all that mess. For that matter, I am not even really saying they should. If they have goals in mind, they should stop at nothing to accomplish those goals. I just happen to disagree with every one of them, but liberal Democrats will not let anything stand in their way of getting done what they want done. That is the kind of spine conservatives need in a President. That is why I have always been a fan of Ted Cruz and, as for now at least, I plan on both voting for Ted Cruz in the primaries and volunteering for his campaign to help in any way possible here in North Carolina. I wish he had answered her question with something similar to that, challenging her question, but instead he actually came up with two instances where he compromised with Democrats in a time when Democrats have allowed virtually nothing to happen in the Senate. That is a big accomplishment in itself. Of course, that was not enough for Bash, but at least he was able to give specific examples.

I thought he gave a great answer about how being liked in Washington equals being reviled back home and being reviled in Washington equals being loved back home. It's because there is such a great divide between the Washington bubble and people with sense. Washington got plenty of things done in the first two years of the Obama presidency when he had a rubber stamp Congress with Democrats in control of both houses and the results were what led to the Tea Party being born and having a great degree of success in the first place. It was and is a grassroots movement with no single leader that is quite simply fed up with everything they see coming out of Washington and leaders with the mentality of this “journalist.” If getting along in Washington D.C. means keeping things on the same path they have been going, is it really worth being liked? The sad thing is many politicians in D.C., Democrat and Republican alike, seem to be more concerned about what is thought of them there than what the people who elect them think of them. As long as that attitude prevails, the Tea Party should always have life and energy in the realm of American politics.

Finally, on the “you need to get things done” thing--when Washington "gets things done" the last several years, things usually get worse. Washington not getting things would be a nice change of pace versus what has come out of there the last six to eight years. I have actually thought about how big of a book could be written at the end of the Obama years on just how many things President Obama and his followers in Congress got done while he has been there (when he didn’t just write an executive order to go around them) and how bad for the country it all really has been. That might be a project worth taking up in the future as long as it doesn’t cause me to pull what is left of my hair out.

So to summarize: Ted Cruz gave another great interview, Dana Bash and CNN helped me to remember why I rarely watch anything on CNN unless they are interviewing someone worth listening to, and they also helped me to remember why their ratings along with MSNBC’s are in the toilet compared to Fox News Channel. Keep it going guys. Maybe one day, hopefully, both CNN and MSNBC will be off the air. That last part may involve a lot of wishful thinking, but hey...one can dream.

Brock Lesnar's outburst and suspension

Very rarely do I get to say this, but the Authority got one right. Specifically, it was Stephanie McMahon that got one right last night on Raw. Brock Lesnar’s outburst was indeed provoked by the actions of the Authority. There is a rematch clause in the contract for any title match. When Brock lost the title, he was guaranteed a rematch. He had every intention of invoking that rematch clause last night. He should have been allowed to do so. To make matters worse, he was promised that match. To then deny him the rematch he deserved was a slap in the face. What did WWE expect Brock Lesnar to do? Did they expect him to shrug his shoulders and go home?

That does not excuse his actions any more than someone provoked before a murder would get acquitted because of a provocation. Brock Lesnar didn’t just try to attack WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins or J&J Security. He turned over a heavy announce table on JBL and Booker T. The worst part though is what he did to Michael Cole. Michael Cole is not a super-muscular wrestler. He is not a wrestler at all and is therefore not trained to handle the physical abuse that wrestlers are used to taking. There is still no detailed information on Michael Cole’s condition after Brock’s F-5 other than he has a possible cervical fracture. I hope that the condition ends up not being that severe since such an injury can lead to loss of feeling in the extremities or worse. Then Lesnar attacked an innocent camera man in the same manner.

As a result of his actions, Stephanie McMahon suspended Brock Lesnar indefinitely and rightfully so. I almost never take the side of HHH or Stephanie McMahon on any issue, but on this one, there was only one right decision and that was the decision that was made. It was very unpopular, but what else could be done? What if he would have been allowed to continue the rampage in subsequent weeks? Who would have been his next target? And how severe would the injuries have been? WWE by its very nature is not “safe” to the physical well-being to any who participate in the ring, Many of the people who were injured last night did not seek or agree to be in the ring though. A seven figure fine (if such a fine is levied) and an indefinite suspension is the right call to make on the Lesnar matter. Now, when that suspension is lifted…..the last person on Earth I would want to be is WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins.
