Mike Bickle's "anti-Semitism" controversy and Ted Cruz endorsement

Another lie is now being spread about Ted Cruz for almost a month now. This time it is that he accepted an endorsement from a pastor who is supposedly anti-Semitic named Mike Bickle [1]. The claim is not true because the teaching being called anti-Semitic is nothing of the sort and Pastor Bickle has not expressed anything else that should even remotely be considered that way.

The teaching being cited comes from Jeremiah 16:14-16. God said, "'Therefore behold, the days are coming,' says the Lord, 'that it shall no more be said, The Lord lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of Egypt, but, The Lord lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north and from all the lands where He had driven them. For I will bring them back into their land which I gave to their fathers. Behold, I will send for many fishermen,' says the Lord, 'and they shall fish them; and afterward I will send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain and every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.'" [2]

According to this so-called anti-Semitic teaching (even though it's not), a recent historical fulfillment of these verses could be seen from what Hitler did during the Holocaust. He would be the "hunter." Theodor Herzl [3] and others like him would be the "fishermen" who started the modern Zionist movement to bring the Jews back to their rightful place in the land God gave them thousands of years ago. The families of the ones that did go were spared the Holocaust that happened decades later. The families of the ones that did not take the opportunity to go back to their homeland afterward did go through the Holocaust. The result was within three years of the end of World War II, many more of the Jewish people that were left were all too willing to go back into the land. And because of the horror of those events, much of the world except the Arab nations that surrounded them were all too willing to agree. God didn't violate the free will of individual choice, but God's plan in prophecy of having the Jews return to the land ended up happening one way or the other.

A similar scenario will play out during the Tribulation period before the return of Christ. Israel will be in the land but the nation will have accepted the treaty of the Antichrist resulting in the rebuilding of a third Jewish Temple. “He [the Antichrist] will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’ In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And at the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him” [4]. The nation as a whole will not have accepted Jesus Christ as their Messiah yet except for the 144,000 Jews God will raise up. “And I heard how many were sealed, a hundred and forty-four thousand; [twelve thousand] sealed from every tribe of the sons of Israel: Twelve thousand were sealed from the tribe of Judah, twelve thousand from the tribe of Reuben, twelve thousand from the tribe of Gad, twelve thousand from the tribe of Asher, twelve thousand from the tribe of Naphtali, twelve thousand from the tribe of Manasseh, twelve thousand from the tribe of Simeon, twelve thousand from the tribe of Levi, twelve thousand from the tribe of Issachar, twelve thousand from the tribe of Zebulun, twelve thousand from the tribe of Joseph, and twelve thousand from the tribe of Benjamin were sealed (marked, redeemed, protected)” [5].

This 144,000 will be led by two witnesses to preach the Gospel during the first three and a half years of the Tribulation. “And I will allow my two witnesses to prophesy for one thousand two hundred sixty days, wearing mourning clothes. These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth. If anyone wants to hurt them, fire comes out of their mouth and burns up their enemies. So if anyone wants to hurt them, they have to be killed in this way. They have the power to close up the sky so that no rain will fall for as long as they prophesy. They also have power over the waters, to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with any plague, as often as they wish. When they have finished their witnessing, the beast that comes up from the abyss will make war on them, gain victory over them, and kill them. Their dead bodies will lie on the street of the great city that is spiritually called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified. And for three and a half days, members of the peoples, tribes, languages, and nations will look at their dead bodies, but they won’t let their dead bodies be put in a tomb. Those who live on earth will rejoice over them. They will celebrate and give each other gifts, because these two prophets had brought such pain to those who live on earth. But after three and a half days, the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet. Great fear came over those who saw them. Then they heard a loud voice from heaven say to them, ‘Come up here.’ And they went up to heaven in a cloud, while their enemies watched them” [6].

Just like many times in past, Israel will be persecuted, this time by the Antichrist who seeks to completely destroy them just as Satan has sought to do from the beginning. “A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of 12 stars on her head. She was pregnant and cried out in labor and agony as she was about to give birth. Then another sign appeared in heaven: There was a great fiery red dragon having seven heads and 10 horns, and on his heads were seven diadems. His tail swept away a third of the stars in heaven and hurled them to the earth. And the dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she did give birth he might devour her child. But she gave birth to a Son—a male who is going to shepherd all nations with an iron scepter—and her child was caught up to God and to His throne. The woman fled into the wilderness, where she had a place prepared by God, to be fed there for 1,260 days. Then war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon. The dragon and his angels also fought, but he could not prevail, and there was no place for them in heaven any longer. So the great dragon was thrown out—the ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, the one who deceives the whole world. He was thrown to earth, and his angels with him. Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: The salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Messiah have now come, because the accuser of our brothers has been thrown out: the one who accuses them before our God day and night. They conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they did not love their lives in the face of death. Therefore rejoice, you heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the earth and the sea, for the Devil has come down to you with great fury, because he knows he has a short time. When the dragon saw that he had been thrown to earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child. The woman was given two wings of a great eagle, so that she could fly from the serpent’s presence to her place in the wilderness, where she was fed for a time, times, and half a time. From his mouth the serpent spewed water like a river flowing after the woman, to sweep her away in a torrent. But the earth helped the woman. The earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the river that the dragon had spewed from his mouth. So the dragon was furious with the woman and left to wage war against the rest of her offspring—those who keep God’s commands and have the testimony about Jesus. He stood on the sand of the sea” [7]. It is during the Tribulation's time of persecution that the Jews will find refuge and ultimately will finally come to realize that they have been wrong all of this time and Jesus really is the true Messiah. "In this way, all Israel will be saved’ [8].

For people that might have a problem with the modern application of these verses, I would ask them why. It is not out of character for God to sovereignly allow bad things to happen if it accomplishes overall good. Even if one rejects the multiple fulfillment argument for the Jeremiah passage, the fact remains that it is still in the Bible. And these verses already have a fulfillment prior to the Holocaust and prior to the future fulfillment during the Tribulation because the Babylonians were also hunters who scoured the land looking for Jews that were hiding out when they invaded. So believing Jews who might think this teaching is anti-Semitic can't really say that because there is biblical precedent for this happening before with the Babylonian invasion.

There is nothing anti-Semitic about all of that. There is nothing in that which says "Yeah, go get 'em!" This is not some bloodthirsty teaching that seeks to see all of the Jews killed. You would have to look to the centuries past of false teaching about the Jews from the Catholic Church [9], Martin Luther [10], and others for that. Thankfully, Ted Cruz or someone from his campaign had enough sense to check out the facts behind this teaching before they made the assumption that this pastor hated Jews. Ironically enough, John McCain distanced himself from Pastor John Hagee (maybe the most pro-Israel pastor alive today and founder of Christians United for Israel [11]) for this exact same teaching about "Hitler the hunter" [12] And it didn't help McCain any because he lost! Rather than these claims of anti-Semitism being anything close to true, what we have here is an attempt to smear Ted Cruz by association to try to convince voters that he is not as pro-Israel as he has proven to be.

Not all elections are the lesser of two evils

Not all elections are necessarily the lesser of two evils although that is true a lot of times. It is not universally true and it doesn't have to be true this time unless Trump wins the Republican nomination. If he wins, then it will be the lesser of two evils although with him, sometimes I wonder which is which.. Bernie Sanders is a whacko socialist. Hillary Clinton is a lying criminal. And Donald Trump is a pathological narcissistic sociopath. Regardless, just because there are a lot of bad choices in the political process, that is not an excuse for lack of participation. If everyone who felt there is little difference between the two parties still participated in the political process either by running for office themselves and trying to change the parties, supporting genuinely good primary candidates, or by voting for a third party, the American political landscape could look a lot different.

I don't support any liberal politician, but at least Bernie Sanders is honest about who he is. He's a whacko socialist and he's proud of it. Much like Ted Cruz is the real conservative on the Republican side and he doesn't shy away from it, even when it makes him hated by the leaders of his own party. Cruz vs. Sanders would be the best race since both are completely up front about who they are.

I am taking the bigger picture into account. That's why I don't want a liberal progressive internationalist in charge. Looking at what the Bible says about world government about the end times, I believe there is a global conspiracy for global government, but I do not believe that every single person in every political structure on the planet supports that conspiracy. The good ones may be heavily outnumbered, but they are not alone. If I thought every person running for President was controlled by this globalist conspiracy, I would not waste my time. I just don't believe that. I am voting for, actively supporting, and volunteering for Ted Cruz for the benefit of the United States. We are stewards on this earth and that means what we vote for and what we do with our time, talents, thoughts, words, and actions all matter for eternity. What we receive or don't receive at the Bema Seat (Judgment Seat of Christ) will depend on what we did as stewards of what we have been given. "For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required" (Luke 12:48 KJV). That is why, succeed or fail, I will not be silent and I will not stop fighting until I see Jesus, nor should anyone else in the body of Christ.
